The Squash Chronicles

It was nice having Monday off. Labor Day was spent with family for lunch. Jeremiah and Becky made a surprise visit and join Diana and I at the parents house. Lunch was served around noon, but all of us arrived earlier to socialize and help out.

I was fortunate to be able to ride my bike to and from my parents place yesterday. It is only a 15 minute ride one way, but it felt so good to be out on my bike again. It was a perfect opportunity to get out and ride. The weather was not hot at all. It was in the upper 80's when I took off and problably low 90's when I went home. I will have to take more opportunities to ride my bike when I can. Now I must get Diana a bike so she can ride with me. It may have to wait till after the wedding though. We shall see.

The tile is now completely installed along with the carpet and baseboards. It feels so nice to walk on the tile! I absolutely love it! Glad to also fund a local small business to do the work. Thank you American Floors in Visalia!

Here is the results of Day 1. Well it is part of the days end results. The kitchen, dining room, pantry, and guest bathroom is done too. The only thing that needs to be done tomorrow are the base boards for the whole house, master bedroom, and the master bath. They expect to be done by 1. I love the work so far :D.

The tile is being installed as I write this post. They are moving very quickly with this Nafco Tile. They arrived here around 830AM. I was told at the rate they are going they should be done with the job by tomorrow around noon. Basically that means I will have the rest of the afternoon to dust and vacuum up mess. Removing old tile and scrapping the cement created a lot of airborne dust. It will be worth it though and I cannot wait to have it all finalized tomorrow. You can be sure to see a photo!

Finally have rain gutters installed on the house. This was the closest color I could find to match the tones of the house. I like them and now anyone coming up to the front door will be drier when it rains. Plus the stains on lower portion of the house will be gone :)
